You’ve heard the rumors for weeks – now we can report that Verizon has officially announced the specifics on the Verizon Droid over the air update to Android 2.1! From what we have heard this afternoon is that the update will be performed over-the-air on Thursday, March 18! With the update the Droid will be given the most current version of the Android mobile operating system. Droid users will enjoy many of the same features that the Google Nexus One owners currently boast about.
